What colour should we finish the wooden legs?

So you’ve chosen the chair, selected the fabric, and now we need to choose the wood polish. Maple, Mahogany, Oak, or just Natural? While many of the darker colours look stunning in the right setting, you may regret it as soon as they get chipped by passing traffic or aggressive vacuum cleaners. Which is why we often recommend natural.

When chair or table legs in a natural polish suffer an impact, and ultimately get chipped, at least it will show the same colour as the wood polish on the surface.

Of course, we do everything we can to prevent them getting chipped in the first place. Which is why show wood on our furniture is hand stained and sprayed using between 2 – 4 coats of lacquer. We use water based stains to reduce VOC emissions to the environment. Our polishing system complies with BS6250 and utilises Medicoate laquer on all show wood surfaces. This system resists microbial growth to combat the spread of infection both in medical and non-medical uses.
