What a resounding success!

On Saturday 20 March, the Berwick team set out over the hills of Shropshire to walk in support of the Alzheimer's Society, and raise awareness for dementia.

We set a target of £100, which would either cover the cost of 10 calls with one of the telephone-based Dementia Advisers, providing essential support to those who need it most during the pandemic, or provide 800 microscopic slides, used in labs to study the earliest changes that lead to dementia and enable critical discoveries.

Instead, we smashed this target to raise a whopping £240, which will fund over four virtual Singing for the Brain sessions a month, giving people affected by dementia opportunities to stay connected with one another through the power of song.

The monies raised from the Memory Walk will be invaluable to the Alzheimer’s Society whether it is used to fund support services which strive to ensure nobody should have to face dementia alone; aid the awareness campaign for dementia and the effects it has on people living with dementia and their carers; or to go towards research to help improve care, and work towards to a cure for dementia.

We are so honoured to be able to support this incredibly worthy cause: find out more at www.alzheimers.org.uk !
